Go and know this place is worth. It has the very decorated walls and there is almost no one. It is a quiet place.

A site that if you are in the area need to know, they will try to charge you, but if you follow a little later there is another entry that is free... recommended

On my journey through Cambodia within a tour - as seen on the trip from the capital Phnom Penh to tourist city of Siem Reap at Angkor - we stopped at short a somewhat sleepy, away from the main road, very interesting temple called WAT Kohear Nokor. As the temple lies on a lake surrounded by dense nature, should not forget mosquito repellent, sunscreen and of course don't forget drinks because of the hot temperature! Also you should fit in the ruins before any fields mice or other insects, hiding in the shady walls from the Sun. For locals, the temple is well known, as many monks live, providing inter alia school and recreational facilities for the local children. During school breaks many Cambodian children (but also teachers) are curious about the distant, tourist visitors, so that it is spoken also according to friendly. One advance: visits to temples in Asia - even (origin) old - always appropriate respect, restraint, comply with the orders of the temple is required since all places where a God or Buddha is revered, serve the locals and the corresponding religious groups for religious rituals, today still! Wat originating from the 11th century Kohear Nokor with corresponding Khmer style unfortunately by the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s attempted to destroy (as unfortunately so many temples in this time in Cambodia!). Still, there is a Buddhist temple, which is however only intermittently open on the grounds. There is also seeing more interesting, especially to the Buddhist regional way of life in this region of Cambodia. We were there at about noon, and it was going on very little at the temple next to the running of the school. During the hot season, you should try as often as possible slow moving within shaded areas! Due to the existing different architectural styles and historic information, you will need a travel guide. My recommended visiting time is depending on the (cultural) interest. This temple is safe with a tour group or organized by day trip to local travel firms find it easier than to own over there. For me personally, this local temple was very worth seeing.

I found this to be one of the more interesting temples I've seen in Cambodia. The old stone tower at the back of the new wat is filled with bats, which you can hear all around the area and the smell of guano is pretty strong inside. If you look closely, you may find carcasses of them in the stones. I watched a cat pull one out and one of the caretakers had taken out a shovel-full of guano and spread it out to dry in the sun as I was taking pictures. The paintings inside the new wat are beautiful and the entire ambience of the place is very relaxing and somewhat mysterious. The surrounding area is pretty clean and there is a nice lotus pond at the entrance.
