  • Battambang has a little gem here both in the art gallery and their cafe. You can stroll through the exhibits and then relax with coffee or a cool rose soda water. The food menu looks good too with...  more »

  • A pearl of creativity. I discovered it by chance and thought some culture was not wrong. The story of the artworks is passionately presented and gives a deep insight into the life of Cambodia. Absolutely recommendable!
  • I've lived in Asia for seven years and I've never been treated so rudely. When I arrived, the door to the gallery was open and nobody was there serving as greeter or receptionist. I queried whether anyone was around by saying "hello" at a moderate volume so as to not appear rude by shouting. With no response I decided to take a few steps into the place; perhaps I might see another visitor or maybe a staff member. From the front door one can see the bathroom. I went to use it. And this is where the problem began. A middle-aged French man, whom I took to be the proprietor, approached the bathroom door and sarcastically asked if I lived on the premise. Of course I didn't, it's an art gallery. I didn't mind this so much, and as I left the bathroom I saw the man and two other Cambodian staff standing near the door. I said hello. The French man was frowning, mouth agape. I asked if there was a problem. He then scolds me for entering the place and using the bathroom without permission. When I told him nobody was at the door when I arrived, he was dismissive. When I said I tried to get someone's attention by calling out with "hello" he was incredulous. We then exchanged profane taunts with one another. I was deeply offended. Given the location of this place, there's absolutely no reason to suppose I tried to surreptitiously enter the gallery just to use the bathroom and leave without paying. Of course the only reason why any tourist would walk by the gallery would be to see the art. This is what I wanted to do, and instead I was treated like a petty criminal.
  • This modern art is one of the best galleries I have seen in ages. It is truly amazing and would highly recommend a stop there.
  • Great to see if you’re interested in modern art. The new part of the building was just opened a few days ago and enlarges the exhibition. The entrance fee is now 5 USD per Person (student discounts available) and is well spent here.
  • This was a great gallery! It's really cool to see local artists and how their experiences impact their art. Go support them if you appreciate art!
