Ek Phnom Pagoda, Battambang

3.9
#3 of 9 in Wildlife in Battambang
Nature / Park · Wildlife Area
The killing caves of Ek Phnom Pagoda give a grim insight into the atrocities committed by one of history's most brutal regimes, the Khmer Rouge. Enter the temple built in the complex of caverns to begin the chilling tour. The cool breeze blowing through the caves, the golden reclining Buddha statue, and the cages containing victims' bones create a haunting atmosphere. Outside, see a mannequin display depicting the brutal and creative ways the government used to torture people, a harrowing finish to the cave experience. • A nice small temple. Good to stroll around and take some photos. There were not any tourists besides us on this site. Entrance is $1 and going around takes around 15-20 minutes. Nextdoor one can find a large statue of a buddha.
  • Not worth the ride It's a at least 20 to 25 minutes ride from the city center. What you will find is just another old Pagode Ruin Really nothing special or something to notify. More like a walk in a park. 1$ entrance fee
  • The base where Buddha is sitting is made of bricks giving the pagoda a “ unfinished “ look.
  • Beautiful .
  • No view, no special food... not a right place I’m looking for.
