At Sozopol Old Town, experience the beaches, history, culture, and cuisine of an ancient seaside town. Walk the town's narrow cobbled streets alongside sun-dried brick walls and old wooden houses. Older women sit in front of the houses, chatting, knitting, and selling freshly picked figs and homemade jams and jellies. Watch fishermen on wooden boats pulling nets from the sea, then stop at one of many traditional restaurants for Bulgarian, Greek, or Turkish cuisine. You'll also find fish stalls, coffee shops, snack bars, and campsites. The town is famous for its lively cultural scene, especially the Apollonia art and film festival. Charming churches, plenty of restaurants and shops. A lot of beautiful, historic houses from the 18th and 19th centuries, but we are concerned that although in theory the old town is protected against destruction of historic architecture, but, in practice, probably not until the end of this protection works. Looking at the amount of already rebuilt homes it can be assumed that for a dozen years to remain really the minimum number of original houses, because you can see that the real estate in this city are bought and worked on a new fashion, or even debris was sent and replaced with modern architecture. You should be so hurry from visiting this place it loses it its charm and become ordinary seaside town with several remains of monuments. If you want to feel the atmosphere of old Bulgaria is rush him he disappears. Currently still very recommended.show original
