#3 of 14 in Museums in Burgas Province
At Archaeological Museum, see urns, artifacts, and art representing the culture and traditions of the town's inhabitants from the 6th millennium BCE to the 17th century CE. Walk through two sections of the museum, which divide the collection into the archeological part and the Christian art section. View anchors and bayonets of ancient civilizations, and browse through a variety of extravagant Greek vases and amphorae. Look for relics of John the Baptist, preserved in an alabaster casket. The site also has numerous scripts, maps, and photographs that describe historical information and the museum's workings. • If anyone is in Sozopol for more than 3 days, in my opinion, visiting the Museum should be mandatory in the program. On the ground floor and first floor houses really a significant amount of very interesting exhibits, the middle ages and antiquity

  • Museum of the category "nuanced"-a collection of rich, but very little to any signatures, order, not chronological, all mixed. That exhibited at 2 floor skeleton belongs to the most "Vampire", learned after the visit, no signatures thereto No. But a collection of amphorae simply stunning. Also interesting ancient Greek statues-try to find "alien"! The Museum clearly need to tour, but in Russian the museum itself does not offer tours at all. But in the Museum, so good in the summer heat hits it very nice. 7 entry Lev.

  • During the excavations of Sozopol found a strange skeleton, which stuck out. It 800 years old. Historians have found, in ancient times the rules some krivich, dark personality and eager. He surrendered the city, apparently genujesscam zlato srebro-. Sozopol was plundered, and the Mayor has gained much notoriety that was nailed after death probe. Oh so surely. It happens with some gradonachalnikami. Today's lesson, Yes.

Where to stay in Sozopol

As a historical coastal town located partially on a curving peninsula, Sozopol offers an array of accommodations within easy walking distance of the ocean. Most of the larger upscale lodgings sit within the newer, inland part of town. Though these tend to be more expensive, they offer ameniteies like on-site pools and restaurants (and they're still close to both the beach and historical city core). Also check out the private villas and guesthouses scattered throughout the cobbled streets and winding alleys of the Old Town on the peninsula. They will put the town's ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman sites right on your doorstep.
