  • It is very messy as well as not being in a nice area, there are many homeless and is the only place in Sofia that doesn't give you the idea to be sure. In return I got a cab (I assume squatter) has turned the meter and not even 5 min running asked me 10 lev (from airport to City Centre 10 km, it takes 20 min 15/12 lev and to understand). Eventually I gave him 5 lev and I told him that was fine him! Then eye to taxis take only those with inscription on the doors OK taxi or calls to 9372121 better yet.

  • For me the market is always a reflection of a community, so when I travel I always do so to go there, the Vucciria and Ballarò in Palermo at the Kauppatori by Helisnki, from the small covered market of Mahon in Minorca to Granada. The women's market in Sofia, not far from the Centre, I want to point out why is an exception in a city which of course always tries to bridegroom at best for tourists and businessmen. in this area I breathed a genuine atmosphere, sincere, authentic, baldly that each visitor can touch a piece of ordinary people's lives especially because low prices give an idea of the average salaries of those parts; the choice is huge on the stalls, from flowers to spices at terracotta, in an environment between the East and the West; I myself have tasted (enjoying) a good coffee to the equivalent of 15 cents and bought an umbrella for the equivalent of 3.00 euros in a shop run by a family, to say the least, very kind; wander among the stalls for women and men at the edge of society seeking to buy as part of their very limited financial resources, but also this is a piece of authentic Bulgarian life, more outspoken and significant of many shopping malls as if they are from us.

  • To miss a visit here is missing a part of Sofia's soul. Here you meet many Sofiabor among authentic goods from Bulgaria, but also Designer copies. A lively and friendly place, in retired Bulgarian atmosphere.

  • Very fresh to be amongst the vegetables. Beware of pickpocketing gypsies
  • Nice place with small shops and a lot of booths. Local dishes, fruits, vegetables and some souvenirs shops. Clean and nice (more locals than tourists). I do recommend to buy and eat there Banitsa and to drink the famous Buza (special yogurt).
  • You can buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Keep your valuables close and look around for pickpocketing. Most of weight scales do not measure correctly.
  • One of Sofia's traditional landmark open air markets. Much better now after a major renovation in 2015. Offers agricultural produce along with other goods as well as a couple of eating and drinking places.
