Slaveikov Square, Sofia

(3.9/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web)
Take a stroll around , a quaint pedestrian-only neighborhood lined with stalls that offer everything from vintage book editions to CDs. Here you can find literature in both Bulgarian and English languages, as well as English translations of Bulgarian classics. It is said that second-hand copies can be bought at bargain prices. Famous Bulgarian writers Petko and Pencho Slaveykov, a father and a son, lived in this neighborhood, and the street was named after them. You will see their statue, sitting on one of the benches. If you get thirsty from all the shopping, grab a drink at one of the cafes at the site. • This square is famous for its new and second hand book open market. For 1-2 euros you could also find foreign books.
