  • In the top of the center , Great view . And in the summer time can listen a Opera while sitting into stadium . like a step between old times and new now
  • Very good remains, although partial because they are under the modern city. For help to have an idea, there is a good video by 6 Lev. 3D which explains the evolution of the city, when it was discovered, excavated and as it was in Roman times.

  • The stadium is situated very close to the city centre, in the middle of shopping and walking, is the largest Roman Balkan structure, originally had a length of 240 metres. and a width of 50 and could accommodate up to 30,000 spectators. The stadium was used for the practice of sport as for shows and events. Much of the structure is of brick and marble and was built during the reign of Emperor Hadrian (117-138). It's a must see for anyone visiting the beautiful city of Plovdiv.

  • The history behind the discovery of this place is interesting. I recommend going down under the tunnel and watching the 3d movie explaining everything about it. You also get free admission to a museum in old town with purchase of the ticket.
  • A beautiful place to visit while in Plovdiv. On the level below the main street there is a coffee place facing the end of the stadium, so all can enjoy exploring the ruins while having a nice cup of tea or coffee
  • I would recommend to go In the morning and avoid the afternoon sun. Try to catch a live show here to expense what it would have been like in the Roman era.
  • Lots of history and amazing to think centuries ago they moved the high stones in place to make this.
  • Plovdiv is one of my favorite places, there's loads to do in the new town and plenty to see in the old town. The value for money is fantastic and there are plenty of good restaurants.
