St Stephens Church, Nessebar

(4.7/5 based on 80+ reviews on the web)
At the coast of Black Sea, see 16th century iconostasis at St Stephens Church, the UNESCO Heritage Site. The eastern part of three-nave basilica dates from 11th century, and presents its oldest part. In 16th, and 18th century, the church got murals of over 1,000 New Testament figures. As you walk through the church, you will walk through centuries of incredible art, and religion. Later on, organizations, and government renovated the church in order to preserve iconography, carved bishop’s throne, and a pulpit. See well-preserved interior frescoes, rare examples of wall art of central Europe. • The Church Of St. Stephanie is one of the many churches of old Nessebar and one nemnogoih-current ... This place is worth a visit: the believers-to communicate with God, atheists-admire the architecture and interior decoration.

  • St. Stephanie impresses with its decoration and, at the same time, uniqueness! Breath of olden time right from the very threshold envelops you. It is a pity that restoration lasts more than one year, but it's worth it. Be sure to visit this shrine in order to better understand the complicated life of this city's historic Museum.
