(2.8/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web)
See how rum is produced in a traditional, sustainable, and natural way at Callwood Distillery, housed within a 400-year-old stone building peeking through sugarcane bushes. Enter the dusty, dim distillery to see old bottles hanging from the walls and examine oak barrels responsible for the rum's distinct flavor and color. Taste or buy some sugarcane rum, or ask the owner to show you how this liquor is boiled and fermented in outdoor stills. • This is a fun place to visit even though I'm not convinced Rum is still made there. Interesting to see and try some of the Rum.
  • Stay away. Tourist trap. Very hard to believe this actually produces rum but they say it does. Taxi cabs love to take you here so they can rack up the fees. Taxi's must get kick backs for taking you h...  more »
  • We drove up to the distillery, dirt parking lot, lots of refuse about. This spot should not be listed on Trip Advisor as a place to go. There is nothing there.

  • Simple old place, but very interesting. 400years old. Looks like a building out the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean" . 4 Rum sample $1.00. Located walking distance from beach. Not much to this place but worth a quick stop.
  • Visit the distillery before the visit to the beach at the "Cane garden Bay" - by the way a super sandy beach. In the expected Distelle and first only who also buys the shield photos or 2USD-, but then the voice of the hard-working seller: "every rum something special, this for the ladies!" After the first glass the ladies throw away all her clothes". "' And then a voice cried:" I need 10 bottles! " Interesting place to inform a distillery in the Caribbean. Hardworking and funny "seller".

  • Old distillery with outstanding resale ROM. Ancient bottles covered with dust and beautiful old banners. Stunning beach.
