Create an itinerary including Copper Mine Point
Stop at Copper Mine Point while touring Virgin Gorda island to immerse yourself in a fascinating historical site. Abandoned and left to ruin in the 1800s, the mine was used by British miners, and the fruits of their labour would be transported by boat all the way to Wales. Be sure to bring your camera, as the site affords beautiful views of the ocean. There is little information available onsite, so it’s worth researching the mine's interesting history before you go. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Virgin Gorda holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Copper Mine Point and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Just ruins, a plate explaining what this once was and a path around some rotten structures. When you are here anyway, no harm stopping. But not worth any extra effort.

  • We had some time to kill, so we stopped by the old mine. Not much to see of the mine itself (it is crumbling and not much preservation is happening), but the views of the open ocean and rock...
