Copper Mine Point, Spanish Town
(3.5/5 based on 55+ reviews on the web)
Stop at Copper Mine Point while touring Virgin Gorda island to immerse yourself in a fascinating historical site. Abandoned and left to ruin in the 1800s, the mine was used by British miners, and the fruits of their labour would be transported by boat all the way to Wales. Be sure to bring your camera, as the site affords beautiful views of the ocean. There is little information available onsite, so it’s worth researching the mine's interesting history before you go. • The Copper Mine area gives visitors another perspective of past life on the island from when the mine was operating.
  • Any time of the year, natures wonder, hiking trails to the azul waters, feel the power of what it was like back in history
  • Beautiful spot with interesting ruins and a breathtaking view of the ocean. Don't plan on spending a great deal of time here, but don't miss it either -- and bring your camera!
