4.4/5 based on 1,500+ reviews on the web
For the adventurous, Escorrega Waterfall is not just a scenic waterfall in the forests of the Visconde de Mauá region, but a naturally occurring water park. Formed in 1966 during a heavy rainstorm, a smooth sheet of bedrock forms a perfect slide into a crystal clear plunge pool. Further upstream you will find more naturally occurring pools, perfect for taking a dip, and a few craft stalls are set up on a weekend. If you need something to warm you up after the brisk river, try one of the nearby bars or restaurants. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Visconde de Maua holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Escorrega Waterfall and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Very beautiful, but with very cold water to have going in the winter, I believe that the summer is a great place for bathing and lots of fun. With parking place.

  • I think it's the greatest natural pool, which descends from the Black River, running further north of the road. Has the stone that descends and falls of that pool, being the reason for the name.
