(4.4/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web)
A simple building with marble décor, Matriz of Santa Rita de Cassia Church is the main church of the city and a popular wedding location for the area’s young couples. Built in 1954, the church was erected on the site of an earlier and much smaller religious building. You can visit this site when you stop by the city’s central square, a convenient spot for family photographs. The church stands out against the surrounding landscape and provides an ideal backdrop, complete with the classic stained glass windows and the simple yet elegant façade. Make a quick stop at this architectural landmark or time your visit to attend one of many daily masses. • Very beautiful, located in an easily accessible area right in the Centre of Viçosa. The visitation is public and this with good conservation.

  • The Church is beautiful! The square in front is quiet to take the kids at the end of the day or after the mass of 5:00 pm.

  • I was two days in Viçosa and went twice to the Church. I could see that the people of the city is very religious because whenever I was there were a lot of people in the Church. I enjoyed the architecture and at the entrance there are two beautiful images of Santa Rita and n. s. Aggarwal. The altar of the Church is also very beautiful. Worth the visit.
