Inspirock Rating:
4.3/5 based on 40+ reviews on the web
Completed in 1780, on the site of an older and more modest chapel, Nossa Senhora do Amparo Church features two iconic domes, covered with blue and white tiles. Dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the well-preserved rectangular church consists of nave, chancel, and sacristy, and includes a clock tower that was added in 1822. Inside you can see five white Neoclassical altars, gilded woodwork, and several sacred images of saints, painted in oil by unknown artists. The church is situated on a hill that offers panoramic views of the entire city, so be sure to bring your camera when visiting this historic city landmark. • We didn't get a chance to walk down the aisle, just in the scene was worth it. It is located on the Hill and has a view of the city and the river. And to the right we can see the island of Tinharé (Morro de Sao Paulo).

  • Very beautiful church in the Rococo style not too sophisticated, but cute. It is located on a hill and has a wide front that has a very beautiful view of the city of Valença, Bahia. Great for shooting. Pity that stays closed.
