  • I went through the Canyon of the Sprawling on two occasions, in a crossing out of Alfredo Wagner and another doing the trail from Urubici. The Canyon of the Sprawling is very beautiful, has a very nice and you can see the entrance to the mountain of the white Raven (road) and right in the background is the Morro da Igreja. I believe that in comparison with the other attractions in Urubici, he is still little known among tourists. The trail is a little long, about 25 km to go, come back and walk through the Canyon (about 8 hours), but it's not heavy, has only a slightly higher rise (the total rises about 400 metres) and is very worthwhile, especially for those who like walking in nature. Have some Buffalo on the way, but we didn't have any problems. Upstairs we were surprised by a staff called owners and responsible for the place (the Canyon is divided into two properties, a left and another right) and had, after much talk to pay 20.00 per person R$, having to leave a check for $200.00 by our group. It to the left side. They said the right side the owner does not allow visit. Well, I think the owners can require payment to visit, since it is their property, I just can't understand how a Canyon of this magnitude can be private, as an organ can take possession of something that should be public assets to someone ...

  • We did the track with the guide of Tourism of Urubici pampas fox company. The trail we did round trip took 7 hours and 25 km. We crossed streams of low water, dirt roads, rocks, soaked with vegetation. Tiring, but worth it. On the way already has beautiful views of the local vegetation and hills. In the Canyon, it has amazing views, landscape that thrills. Yields pictures of postcard, if you're not covered by fog. You arrive at the top, where Canyon begins to crack and you can walk along the road, on the edge, overlooking waterfalls and other mountains. We 10/8/16 day and we were lucky to get Sun and fog-free. Recommend it to anyone who likes adventure and hiking trails, but have to be prepared to walk a lot, with shoes and appropriate clothing, sunscreen, and taking water and food. Plan and go!

  • Urubici came about 45 minutes by car to the refuge River canoes. There we pay a ticket (20 reais per person) since the Canion is on private land, and they gave us the keys to the doors that we were going to find. But everywhere they told us that we must go with a guide IS NOT NECESSARY. The walk is about 2 hours walking at a good pace, and the road is very claro(en el refugio nos indicaron un par de intersecciones a tener en cuenta). The end of the road, and nearly all the top, has a muddy terrain, so you have to go with proper footwear, to be possible to waterproof. You should carry enough water and food. The walk is worthwhile to contemplate the incredible views of the Canyon from above, a spectacle of nature worth contemplating.
