  • Start saying that the day was cloudy and with a bit of rain. It discourages, but still we went by boat to the beach. The guys who took us was excellent! Always stopping to explain and such. The problem was the beach itself. The mosquitos were eating us alive, even with tons of protectors. Also couldn't find the beautiful beach. The water was very murky, because of rain, that's for sure. Summary is that the effort to get there just not worth it.

  • The beach itself and the people that is on it is a wonderful thing. To get to the beach it is necessary to make a 12 Km walk by a path that runs through the jungle of the island. This lasts 4 to 5 hour hike and is quite demanding, but none of my friends had physical training, all could succeed without major mishap. It is super important to do this hike early because it gets dark early and they will not want to be at night in the jungle (we came up and we lost). Carry plenty of water but travel light, the path is quite complicated and weather sections, all with mud can be found. Arriving at the beach everything is beautiful. I went in the off-season, where there is almost no one on the island more than residents. We stayed at the campsite of Eugenio. This is near the end of the beach inward. Attention was excellent, the food is by far the richest I tried in all Brazil and since the town is fishing, fish are exquisite. Since the communication is almost non-existent, it is not possible to previously coordinated with the people from the campsite but if you surprise always will attend you with open arms.
