Praia da Enseada, Ubatuba

4.0
#13 of 71 in Outdoors in Ubatuba
Consider the calm, blue waters of Praia da Enseada as your destination for sun and swim. The seven-kilometer-long beach has most of the city's hotels, restaurants, bars, kiosks, New Year's Eve fireworks, a cycling lane, lifeguard stations with showers. Kiosks selling coconuts, beer and great finger food can be found all over. The water’s warm temperature is perfect for swimming and for children and its stillness is perfect for sports like kayaking, diving, fishing, and sailing. At one end, Morro do Maluf (Maluf Hill), with paragliders, is one of the best lookout points on the island. Sea turtle and dolphin sightings are very possible. • My honest opinion. If you don't mind having a sewer mouth off to the beach every 20 metres, this is the place. But visitors also don't help, because they leave their trash around the beach and their dogs at home p to defecate where they see fit. IE ... all very dirty. I'm not coming back, especially with small children. Run away!

  • As all the reviews from TripAdvisor, I have to say about this beach is very personal. The beach is beautiful, but leads to the sewer and I didn't have the courage to walk into the sea. The sea is quite calm, almost without waves, which also doesn't make a lot of my taste, but for those who don't like waves, is great. We stayed in an Inn on this beach, but we ended up preferring to go into busier beaches (from wave, but with few people) as the Red beach of the Center.

  • Beach with calm water, few waves ... crystal clear waters. Some cons are just a few passing cars on the Beach due to houses that are on extension of sand and some "tractors" for passing boats. The beach however is recommended. I'd come back for sure!

Where to stay in Ubatuba

Ubatuba's accommodations mainly stick close to the water, where major hotels along coastal roads offer both simple and luxurious rooms, with or without a view. Budget-conscious travelers may wish to explore the more humble pousadas (guesthouses) of the town, with a good choice throughout, coming down in price as you move away from the water. Consider an apartment rental for longer stays; or, if you're anxious to get out into the national park and mountainous areas of the municipality, try the campsites on the outskirts of town.
