Ilha Anchieta, Ubatuba

4.7
#1 of 9 in Nature in Ubatuba
After the ecosystem on Ilha Anchieta began to weaken, the São Paulo Zoo released a number of species to repopulate the island. The island is surrounded by clean beaches where you may be the only visitor. Explore the lush forest and you may come across old, crumbled walls being reclaimed by vines or sight a rare bird variety that is the progeny of the zoo's repopulation efforts. The waters just off the coast are clear and offer up some great underwater viewing for snorkelers. If you’re in the mood for more action, take a hike. However, wear tall hiking boots as vipers are prevalent and bites are reported every year. Beautiful place full of nature and beaches of transparent water. Has the ruins of the presidio, which was the site of one of Brazil's most violent rebellions, a very cool Museum that tells about's rebellion. And beautiful beaches. I paid R $65.00 in the schooner ride to reach the island and well worth visiting.

You take a boat in the Marina of Ubatuba in the morning and spend some time on the island, is paid a value of maintaining the island. Have some prainhas perfect, (if I'm not mistaken), made by a trail half tiresome, but it's worth it just to get there by boat, and the look is jaw-dropping. Have the old prison and enough history of the island, the presence of monkeys, pacas, many birds and thieving food!!!! kkkk (coatis) ... worth it!

The feeling of being in the Anchieta island is simply indescribable. The hue of the water is perfect, the natural pools are a super affordable charm, not to mention the incredible vegetation that covers the entire island, an amazing biodiversity and the ruins of the old prison gives a bucolic air. The route of Ubatuba to the island is usually done by schooners or boats is interesting take a snack well strengthened since there's no on-site restaurants or coffee shops. It is a paradise, super recommend.

Where to stay in Ubatuba

Ubatuba's accommodations mainly stick close to the water, where major hotels along coastal roads offer both simple and luxurious rooms, with or without a view. Budget-conscious travelers may wish to explore the more humble pousadas (guesthouses) of the town, with a good choice throughout, coming down in price as you move away from the water. Consider an apartment rental for longer stays; or, if you're anxious to get out into the national park and mountainous areas of the municipality, try the campsites on the outskirts of town.
