The array of Santo Antonio should be visited, in Tiradentes. Only the climb worth already. The sundial that's there is pretty cool. It is decorated with more than 350 kg of gold (seems to be the second with more gold in MG). We were fortunate to be with a guide prepared that gave us a very nice explanation on the decoration style. You pay only $5 to get in and you can't photograph inside.

The array of St. Anthony is an important monument of the Baroque. Offers a privileged view of the city and at the entrance, we came across a beautiful work of master Aleijadinho, which frames the main entrance. In your interior, beautiful works of other baroque artists and a precious organ that turns the array into a stage of great concerts of Baroque music.

It's an amazing church. Full of history and details, and is one of the most important tourist attraction of the city.

The most beautiful church I've ever seen by the inside. Gold everywhere.

    Bela vista.

I really liked the place. Admirable as a human being can perform beautiful works of art in the middle of the 18th century. Just make a note: the site deserves to have a descriptive folder of all works of the site with more details such as the churches of Ouro Preto.

Where to stay in Tiradentes

For an atmospheric stay among the Baroque architecture, consider staying in the center of Tiradentes. Prices inflate greatly on weekends, and in the accommodations directly next to the historical area. Charming pousadas (guesthouses) and small hotels make up most of the selection in town, though budget rooms in hostels can also be found if you don't mind staying a few streets from the major attractions. Out of town, you'll find a few more pousadas along the main roads leading out to the south, east, and west, as well as rental apartments and campsites.
