Serra dos Orgaos National Park, Teresopolis

4.6
Serra dos Orgaos National Park is one of the foremost centers of trekking, mountain climbing and rock climbing in Brazil. Whether you are a novice walker or a seasoned adventurer, the park has something to offer, with extensive trails throughout the region that can take anywhere from a few hours to several days. The park covers a 110 sq km (42 sq mi) area of forested mountains rising from 145 m (476 ft) at its lowest point to 2,263 m (7,425 ft) at its highest. The area is abundant in natural springs and the unusual name--"Organ Mountains"--is believed to have come from early Portuguese settlers who thought that the rocky peaks of the mountain range resembled church organs. The most famous of these formations is the Dedo de Deus (God's Finger) rock, which resembles a left hand pointing towards the sky. It is 1,692 m (5,551 ft) high and can be seen in the background of the flag of the Rio de Janeiro state. A visit to Serra dos Orgaos National Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Teresopolis trip builder to plot your vacation.

Admission is paid I don't remember the price is less than 20 reais per person and has a 9.00 real rate (moto) don't know if car is the same value. You can walk 3 km with vehicle soon on arrival has a place reserved for visitors with pamphlet that shows the map and some trails. Remember to take food and water and get ready for the trails because some are long. The postcard recommend eh 30 min is to strip a lot of pretty pictures. I don't recommend going on the trail stopped because ta closed just that employees do not warn. It just enjoy the nature that the place is incredible.

Great place for a picnic with the kids, with ample space for games. The Park offers swimming pool, stocked with waters of springs, but you have to have courage for a swim, due to your ice water. Good too, to enjoy nature and hiking through the Woods.

The natural environment is highly valued and respected by the range of hotels and inns, which have been designed to integrate with nature.
