Parque Zoobotanico de Teresina, Teresina

#6 of 28 in Parks in State of Piaui
Zoo / Aquarium Nature / Park
Armadillos are free to wander around Parque Zoobotanico de Teresina, an environmental preservation area harboring many native plant and animal species. There are many trails here that you can walk by yourself, or in the company of a trained guide. On remoter paths they can show you exotic vegetation growing undisturbed in this protected tropical area, from rare white mimosas to several species of native palms. The site also provides a large food court, kiosks selling crafts and souvenirs, playgrounds, and bicycle/boat rental stalls near the Poti River. Don’t swim in the lake, though --it is full of caimans! Where to stay in Teresina

Many of Teresina's larger hotels cater especially to businesspeople and are therefore concentrated around the city center. However, you can find a range of options across the Poti River in the eastern neighborhood of Jóquei, as well as several choices near the city's airport in the north. Most other neighborhoods offer one or two places to stay. Many of the city's accommodations are budget to mid-range options with decent facilities but not much atmosphere to speak of.

  • Good choice for tours to two or with Group of friend. Well preserved and well wooded area. Worth knowing

  • Nice atmosphere, animals apparently treated well but with that sad face due to jail. Leaves something to be desired a little on some criteria such as organization and cleaning, it is possible to see some packages of products consumed by visitors and the bathrooms are not properly cleaned. It has an area of quiodques with snacks for those who want to get that snack, leisure area with playground for children and enternimento for a young adult audience through bridges of ropes and rappel equipment, also has an ecological path for those who enjoyed it. A good option for those who want a quiet walk with the family and away from the urban noise.

  • The place is super nice for hiking outdoors. Wooded lot. The animals appear to be well treated. You can make snacks on site. An invigorating ride.

  • Large park with good hiking trails. Too bad a fire destroyed many trees on one side of the Park. A lot of hose! The DOH to see lot of manga wasted on the ground. Lol

  • The Park is getting better, especially in what concerns the welfare of animals
