Parque Zoobotanico de Teresina, Teresina

3.3
#4 of 26 in Outdoors in State of Piaui
Armadillos are free to wander around Parque Zoobotanico de Teresina, an environmental preservation area harboring many native plant and animal species. There are many trails here that you can walk by yourself, or in the company of a trained guide. On remoter paths they can show you exotic vegetation growing undisturbed in this protected tropical area, from rare white mimosas to several species of native palms. The site also provides a large food court, kiosks selling crafts and souvenirs, playgrounds, and bicycle/boat rental stalls near the Poti River. Don’t swim in the lake, though --it is full of caimans! Make Parque Zoobotanico de Teresina part of your personalized Teresina itinerary using our Teresina online tour itinerary planner .

  • I have visited the Zoobotanico many times, it is always a good option because my son loves, the structure and visitation is precarious (bathrooms and food). Cool place for cycling or running. Entry is almost for free, less than 5 ... Ideal to drive because you have animals that are far away from each other like monkeys, bear and hippopotamus from the others. As we have few options of leisure in the city I think a good ride. Always take into account that it is not the ideal environment for the animals!

  • Animals are dying in the zoo. Camel died and 7 m is about to bear died due to high temperatures. Scrolls including the undersigned. Zoo should take good care of the animals, feed them properly. Very sad ve4 animals suffering.

  • Are keeping animals of different ecosystems of the region in very bad conditions, clearly upset, like a bear. Regrettable. I hope that soon the prosecution of the environment help to resolve this situation.

  • Got a lot to improve

  • Nice atmosphere, animals apparently treated well but with that sad face due to jail. Leaves something to be desired a little on some criteria such as organization and cleaning, it is possible to see some packages of products consumed by visitors and the bathrooms are not properly cleaned. It has an area of quiodques with snacks for those who want to get that snack, leisure area with playground for children and enternimento for a young adult audience through bridges of ropes and rappel equipment, also has an ecological path for those who enjoyed it. A good option for those who want a quiet walk with the family and away from the urban noise.

Where to stay in Teresina

Many of Teresina's larger hotels cater especially to businesspeople and are therefore concentrated around the city center. However, you can find a range of options across the Poti River in the eastern neighborhood of Jóquei, as well as several choices near the city's airport in the north. Most other neighborhoods offer one or two places to stay. Many of the city's accommodations are budget to mid-range options with decent facilities but not much atmosphere to speak of.
