The image of Our Lady of Perpetual brought from Portugal in 1850 decorates the interior of Nossa Senhora do Amparo Church, the landmark of the city of Teresina. Its architecture style is reminiscent of the cathedrals of Catalan, complete with carved doors and images of saints. Its large neo-gothic bell towers were built during the 1950s on the occasion of centennial anniversary. • The traditional church of the city centre, right in the heart the city, in front of praça da bandeira, brings in its history great events. One of the most coveted churches for brides, shows all the elegance of its architecture.

  • The Church of Nossa Senhora do Amparo is opposite the Deodoro Square or Praça da Bandeira. Location of ground zero of Teresina. The simplicity of this Church gives us an aura of peace and introspection. Has mass daily at 12 hours, which is good for people who work in the region. The site is allowed pictures.

  • I like this Church. I found your great and well preserved building, combining with the central square in which it was located, but getting a little squeezed between the buildings and the trees. Its interior was in restoration work, but I could see it was pretty spacious and loud. Access was easy. Was at the head of the Praça da Bandeira, near the Town Hall.

  • Igreja Primaz de Teresina. Igreja belíssima. A Imagem de Nossa Senhora do Amparo veio de Portugal. O padre celebrante conserva a tradição da liturgia da Igreja. Vale a pena a visita. Atualmente ela está passando por restauração.
  • Também tem a Padroeira de Aroazes... Nossa Senhora da Conceição.
