Museu Imigracao Italiana - Circolo, Taubate

#6 of 11 in Museums in Taubate
A mansion built by Italian immigrants in the 19th century, Museu Imigracao Italiana - Circolo offers a valuable historical lesson to visitors interested in how the European settlers lived and prospered in this region. The building, situated in the cultural district called Quiririm, still includes authentic furniture, much of which was brought from Europe by the original owners. Built by the Indiani family, the mansion was designed in an architectural style typical of northern Italy at that time. Today, the site also serves as the seat of Circolo Italiano, a socio-cultural club working to preserve the culture and tradition of the city’s large Italian community. • The Museum is small but well maintained. Has a few parts, but all in good condition, just a little more information available to visitors. We were very well received by a woman who at the end of the visit presented us with souvenirs of the Museum (EVA book markers with monuments of Italy, cute!)
