Museu Imigracao Italiana - Circolo, Taubate

(3/5 based on 45+ reviews on the web)
A mansion built by Italian immigrants in the 19th century, Museu Imigracao Italiana - Circolo offers a valuable historical lesson to visitors interested in how the European settlers lived and prospered in this region. The building, situated in the cultural district called Quiririm, still includes authentic furniture, much of which was brought from Europe by the original owners. Built by the Indiani family, the mansion was designed in an architectural style typical of northern Italy at that time. Today, the site also serves as the seat of Circolo Italiano, a socio-cultural club working to preserve the culture and tradition of the city’s large Italian community. • Like the Museum, has a guide that gives all the explanations and take all questions. Very interesting to visit and in the same place is the agricultural Museum.

  • I enjoyed the visit to the Museum of Italian Immigration in Quiririm/Taubaté, who works in a cockloft built for his family in 1903 Indiani and recovered in 1996 by the City Hall of that city to house the Museum. Is a simple but interesting Museum, which features photographic panels, antique furniture and fixtures that have a bit of history of immigrant Italian families. An educational tour for those who enjoy history. I liked!
