  • The Museum occupies 10 Ha. in the green area of the city of Taquara and has accumulated a valuable Brazilian pre-colonial collection: ceramics, stone tools, bones and other remains that tell the story of various cultures (Mesoamerican, Guarani, Ge, etc.). We can qualify materials: 1) archaeological material of the States of Rio Grande do Sul; 2) collections of archaeological material from Peru and Mexico; (3) the Indians of the Matto Grosso artifacts; (4) archaeological material of the Jesuit missions of Novo Hamburgo; (5) artifacts of Porto Alegre. Opportunity to visit this museum could see its flow rich archaeological and us sad knowing that it currently has some problems to hire professionals for research and maintenance of the institution. It would be unfortunate that it kept closed with everything what it can offer to students and researchers, even from other regions.

  • The location is quiet, a great Museum that enriches us culturally and good for work and study. Be sure to visit.
