Barra Velha Beach, Soure

(4.2/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Squeezed between mangrove forests and the ocean, Barra Velha Beach has a wild, almost savage beauty to it. Local folklore says that the native who discovered the beach was Master Tomás, a master builder and poet known in the region who wrote legends and poems about the location. Grab a cold beer and a bite to eat at one of the kiosks serving fresh fish and crab, then head off down the increasingly deserted beach to enjoy the company of nature. • Praia da Barra Velha, a few km away from the city, 03 go to taxi, taxi or on foot. I went during the week, was quiet. There's a few tents where you can eat a tasty crab, shrimp, fresh fish and delicious. It was the tide was low and the beautiful landscape, the first sight you think you are the sea, is the river-sea ... the Amazon .... immense. Wonderful feeling of bathing in its waters and not too cold, looking at the horizon and pay attention to the details of the nature of this endearing region.

  • It's a good ride. It is 3 km from Soure. You can go walking or mobility aid. There are taxis and mototáxis. The ideal is to combine the time back (charge roundtrip) Take insect repellent. Make sure the time of low and high tides: we were early and we had to wait because there was no sand at the beach. We stayed in a stilt house and bar we went to sand after downloaded around noon. Prices honest of tiragostos. The only drawback, in my opinion it was having to listen to "sofrência" all the time in high volume, common practice in the places of this beach, even in the case of an area of environmental protection. I think in the case there, music doesn't make the slightest lack respect and better the environment.

  • I visited this beach in a period considered low season, early December. Visual didn't make much of an impression, because the tide had brought many dark algae that gave edge a visual nothing nice. Almost there was no place to swim. However, the high point of this beach is the access to it. To access it we have to traverse a path, about ten minutes walk about 1 1 wooden bridge where the predominant vegetation is the mangrove, saw many crabs in their natural habitat, a really lovely scenario.
