  • About to turn 142 years, unfortunately is a battered old ... Despite being one of the postcards of the city, which has your history closely linked to the railroad, she agonizes the abandonment and neglect. Neoclassical style, she stands out in the urban landscape and is nearby the border railway museum and the French Chalet. All beautiful, if they were being cared for, but it seems that Sorocaba has a serious problem with your story. Very sad. On 15 March 2001 was closed and is decadent. I can't believe you're open to visitors, for I have been several times and was always closed, and with no one to give information. A shame!

  • Old sorocabana station has been one of the most important brands of the city. It remained only a facade that is beautiful and has historical value, but it's sad not to have train that connects a city as important as Sorocaba to São Paulo at least, because if it were reactivated the line, don't miss passengers.

Where to stay in Sorocaba

As you might expect from a city not frequented by tourists, Sorocaba's accommodations do not feature an overwhelming concentration of options in a single area. Hotels and guesthouses spread across much of the city, though you'll find a good number in the city center, roughly within the triangle formed by the Rua Sete de Setembro, Avenida Moreira Cesar, and Sorocaba River. Stay within this district for easy access to the city's attractions, including churches, colonial-era administrative buildings, and museums. For more budget-friendly prices, opt for smaller-scale hotels rather than international chains and towering skyscrapers.
