Where to stay in Sorocaba

As you might expect from a city not frequented by tourists, Sorocaba's accommodations do not feature an overwhelming concentration of options in a single area. Hotels and guesthouses spread across much of the city, though you'll find a good number in the city center, roughly within the triangle formed by the Rua Sete de Setembro, Avenida Moreira Cesar, and Sorocaba River. Stay within this district for easy access to the city's attractions, including churches, colonial-era administrative buildings, and museums. For more budget-friendly prices, opt for smaller-scale hotels rather than international chains and towering skyscrapers.

  • Old sorocabana station has been one of the most important brands of the city. It remained only a facade that is beautiful and has historical value, but it's sad not to have train that connects a city as important as Sorocaba to São Paulo at least, because if it were reactivated the line, don't miss passengers.

Shame our rulers do not give value to the history of our region. Today is just the station. There's not much to see. Are just missed a good time that has passed. That note 4 I gave is to encourage local tourism and (who knows) to draw the attention of the rulers. Aloha ...
