Where to stay in Serra Negra

With its high elevation and fresh mineral water streams, Serra Negra was formerly a spa town--hence its nickname, the "City of Health." Its origins are reflected in many of the available accommodations, with an emphasis on resort-style hotels, ranging from luxury to standard in the quality of services offered. In the Centro area, you'll find the greatest number of choices, with simple chain hotels and some resorts. Head a little farther out, and the accommodations become more basic (fewer amenities, humble architecture), but they give good access to the surrounding landscape and can have better views than lodgings in the center.

  • We love! Second time we go and we were very well attended. Buy wine, rum, honey, blue underwear. Is very worthwhile! Prices are appropriate.

  • There was nothing, just a little shop with the drinks (without tasting) and a seller not very inspired. A shame because I already knew the cachaca-had already bought twice-and was excited to check out the area. Maybe the weekends have someone explaining the history of the family and of the drinks and have visitation for the property but unfortunately have not had the luck to read on the website or any comment of the places researched that wouldn't have anything to do besides buying the drinks, what could I do in any store in the region.
