Biquinha de Anchieta, Sao Vicente

(2/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Biquinha de Anchieta is a small square characteristic for its tiled fountain depicting padre Anchieta, the Jesuit priest who tried to convert the native Indians to Catholicism. Surrounded by souvenir shops, and shops selling Brazilian homemade sweets such as passion-fruit pudding and beijinhos de coco (coconut kisses, similar to macaroons), the site is pleasant for a brief stroll and souvenir shopping. There is also a playground for kids. Plan to see Biquinha de Anchieta and other attractions that appeal to you using our Sao Vicente trip builder.

  • The biquinha as tourist attraction suffered a fire about four years ago. It suffered until January of this year the most complete abandonment. But the new municipal administration decided to give attention to this important tourist spot and more importantly, history. As its name says there is a spout of water where since ever answered to the residents of the city, providing drinking water. There are also many years at biquinha square homemade tents and stalls with local crafts. These tents, as I said in the beginning caught fire and were destroyed. Now in less than a month the new town hall tried to solve this problem but failed. The new tents and the whole structure assembled, are low quality prefabricated and two days of rains have closed much of the candy square. A shame. Because this type of solution causes more problems than his earlier abandonment. Because it makes me sick to see that neglect with the honest worker, which are many, and the public money being wasted. I'm sure that could be much better. But still worth going to taste wonderful types of cakes (all delicious) and slices of cakes that do very well in the eyes, and more to the palate.

  • Lugar lindo
Totalmente largada... Um nojo. Conseguiram acabar com a tranquilidade da praça.
  • Beautiful and historic
