  • If you go through private property, will have to pay a fee whose advantage is access to the beautiful pool and great restaurant. But the Grotto is not very interesting. The best is to go through the village (giving up the cave), passing by the "COO-Bar"). You will have small wells with crystal clear waters, if going down the small path, have the nice little waterfall (which is the exit of the cave) with a meter and a half shafts, which guarantees small dips. From there, it has a wooden ladder that you can access other wells, which are the "charm" of the site. To suggest to change the name of the attraction to "wells of Sobradinho. P.s.: noticed that some employees confused Cave of Sobradinho with the cave of the Stamped; This is closed (because of explosions from the quarry) and is close to the Slope of the Peanuts. But this is another path, on paved road before arriving to San Thomé, far away from Hollywood, which is undergoing in São Thomé, on dirt roads.

  • The site as a whole is very nice and cozy: when we arrive, we came across a garden with flowers and sculptures of Buddha and a beautiful view of a green pasture. Pay a R$15,00 fee for entering the cave and $5 (optional) to use boots, once there is a passage in which water reaches the knees. It is a very quiet and very beautiful! At the end of the cave, there is a BEAUTIFUL waterfall with a hot water and some stones around to sit and enjoy the scenery. It is necessary to take a little care, as with any waterfall, so that there is a part where the water depth increases. But most of the water is shallow (to the cinnamon, more or less). Lunch at the restaurant is very good. Has a home-cooked meal with a fair price (I paid 25.00 for eating at home, and drink). In addition, there is a small shop with various souvenirs Jasons and swimming pool on site (not used). You can't go to San Thomé and not visit the Grotto!

  • Great place to hang out with the guys and connect with nature. Indico rent a house in the city centre, as well as the natural beauty the city possess a very charming village center, where you can enjoy an amazing cooking and baked pizzas mining and stone, very typical of the region. It is not difficult to reach from the city centre up to the cave. And the visit to the cave are guided and for an affordable price, offering helmets with flashlight and galoshes.

  • The cave is cool, when I went was empty, so my visit took a long was well explained. Saw bats inside, was wiped off the lights to get an idea of the darkness of a cave, etc, I think the days of holiday or weekend the visit change the pace. The staff also speaks of the restaurant, but it's somewhere else, this should be evaluated just cave. The tour costs 15 reais per person.

  • I have been several times when I was not yet charged fee and without monitoring (unfortunately so the graffiti on the walls of the cave). In addition to the cave, also has a swimming pool next to the restaurant is rustic (which is very cool), and a fantastic visual. Mountains on all sides. Note 10! Love S Tan

  • You can't bring food/drink and does not have a legal place to enter the waterfall, in addition to being charged the admission per person. But the view is beautiful.

Where to stay in Sao Thome das Letras

Welcoming bed and breakfasts abound in Sao Thome Das Letras, with a good range of options for most budgets. The city sprawls out over the mountain’s peak, so it’s wise to decide which attractions you’d like to be closest to when looking for your accommodations. Staying in the center is a good option, as you’ll be close to some main attractions and landmarks. The jungle and cave systems lie further out, however, so if those are your focus, consider staying on the edge of town for convenience.
