  • Visista obligatory for who goes to San Roque and want to learn a little about the colonial history of our State and country.

  • Built by Jonathan Paes de Barros, brother of the founder of the city, in the 17 century, the site consists of a large House and a chapel. Down by the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (Iphan), the site was bought by the writer Mário de Andrade in 1944 and donated to Iphan after his death. The structure of the site has parking, restrooms, visit monitored on weekends. We were impressed with the story, the location, the construction and architecture itself. It's just beautiful! All with great care, cleanliness and a breathtaking view! Obligatory stop! Free entry!

  • Clean, very well maintained, with the choice to do the tour with a guide, who knows very well prepared with the mouth. A pity that the House does not have the furniture time..
