  • The location itself is not of very easy access, a bit far from the Center and the entrance is by a ravine. The car suffers, most people descend on foot. But worth the effort! The visitor is guided, and we can know the history of the big house and the Chapel, fantastic places, full of memories, in addition to a huge green field, a bucolic place, and good to know. Don't go thinking about eating or drinking, it's not a foodie tour history only, but excellent!

  • Built by Jonathan Paes de Barros, brother of the founder of the city, in the 17 century, the site consists of a large House and a chapel. Down by the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (Iphan), the site was bought by the writer Mário de Andrade in 1944 and donated to Iphan after his death. The structure of the site has parking, restrooms, visit monitored on weekends. We were impressed with the story, the location, the construction and architecture itself. It's just beautiful! All with great care, cleanliness and a breathtaking view! Obligatory stop! Free entry!
