Viaduto Santa Efigenia, Sao Paulo

(3.6/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Viaduto Santa Efigenia is a viaduct located in downtown São Paulo with exclusive use for pedestrians, It starts at Largo São Bento and ends in front of the Church of Santa Iphigenia. It’s a gorgeous steel structure built in Belgium between 1910 and 1913 and transported to Sao Paulo in large pieces. Cross over the viaduct to get a good idea of the grandeur of Sao Paulo. It’s the perfect place to take photos because of it’s architectural style, Art Nouveau, but also because the tallest building in Brazil (Palace W. Zarzur) is right next door. Plan your Viaduto Santa Efigenia visit and explore what else you can see and do in Sao Paulo using our Sao Paulo trip itinerary maker.

  • The Santa Efigênia viaduct connects the Largo de São Bento rua Santa Efigênia, besides being a historic feat of engineering is also very beautiful. During the day it is very safe to pass by there, but care is required. I've witnessed attempts to assault including threat with a gun. But in General, can pass smoothly but very carefully. In short, don't fool around.

  • Dirty place, many camels, many thieves and little policing. Even with all of this it is a postcard of São Paulo, an icon of the city. It was built with steel from Belgium and today does not support more cars, just people. It is possible to have an overview and overview of the Valley of Anahgabaú

  • Today is a viaduct that despite being history (we were donated by England and came made from there to here) and keep very beautiful, was invaded by many stalls and street vendors. But the view is still very beautiful and worth the walk.
