Rua 25 de Marco, Sao Paulo

(3.4/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
Now encompassing more than one street, the Rua 25 de Marco is still known under its original name. It lies in one of the most diverse neighborhoods of the city, where immigrants from all over the world converge to buy and sell their wares. Here you will find hundreds of shops selling miscellaneous items, such as jewelry, toys, accessories, and household goods. Some vendors sell these items in bulk to resellers, while others will sell directly to you, the consumer. Keep an eye on your personal belongings in the area, visitors are often targets for thieves. However--apart from the occasional pickpocketing-- the area is quite safe and is always open for business. Add Rua 25 de Marco to your Sao Paulo travel itinerary, and discover new vacation ideas by using our Sao Paulo itinerary maker.

  • Good place for those who like to shop and buy cheap, has everything imaginable. Very good price.

  • Huge street with shops and street vendors everywhere, too much noise and excitement, but for those who are willing to venture into the largest open trade of São Paulo, it's worth it. Good prices, and you can negotiate anything!

  • The March 25 has it all and then some, but to find the best options you have to pan. Maybe at first you can't assimilate everything, too much information, products, people, etc. But after a few visits you get beast to know where and what's better over there. Some guys that sell whole and chopped fruit on the street, got watermelon, pineapple ... is good for hot days and for something. If you intended to buy, it's always good to take cash, as minor only accept local or itinerant money. It's easier to go by public transport, but there is the option to go by car and stop in a secured parking, there are several close to 25. Stay tuned with the purse, wallet and cellphone because unfortunately there are people who take advantage of your diversion. If anyone calls you "PSST", "Hey", "Lady", avoid looking, unless you want to buy. I nominate go there in low season, to look better and not have so many people as high. And near the March 25 there are other interesting places to visit as the municipal market, the zone cerealista and pinwheel Museum.
