Art Museum Museum
Showcasing paintings and sculptures of a distinguished Lithuanian-born artist who made his home in Brazil in 1923, Museu Lasar Segall contains nearly every work he created during his life in this country. The museum was founded in 1967 by Segall’s wife and children, and is housed in the family’s former residence, which has been carefully conserved to protect the spirit of the artist’s creative process. You can take a free guided tour or attend a brief course in Segall’s lesser-known areas of creativity, such as engraving and photography. The building also contains a library, a small movie theater, and a coffee shop. Drop in to learn about the work of this Modernist artist who transformed Brazilian art with his revolutionary use of color and lighting. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Sao Paulo holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Museu Lasar Segall and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Exhibitions, cinema and a library and be sure to leave without a cup of coffee. Have a well detailed activities through the site. The tranquillity seems great to study or have a nice chat or spend some time there. The place is small, but very comfortable and the staff are extremely polite.

  • For many years, wouldn't the Lasar Segall Museum. Didn't see, for example, after the last reform (that was made a long time ago). Gave a tristezinha to see you again: the reform misread the House Segall space that houses the facilities of the Museum and it was itself an attraction. The main collection was not available and this information was not on the site.
