  • I'm a big fan of reading and whenever I go to bookstores (Livraria Cultura, Fnac, Hail etc.) and that bothers me a lot is usually the noise (background music, conversations etc.) but since it's a commercial environment, is to be expected this absence of silence. On entering the Municipal Library but you will be engulfed by a rapturous silence, which will make any more immersive reading. And be careful, because silence is such that falling asleep in a heavier reading is a matter of minutes. The employees are always friendly, stand vigil in who can eventually be damaging the works, which is pretty good. The environment is not the masterpiece in modernity, but maybe that makes it even more enjoyable your stay. Has light fixtures, fans and relatively enough seats. You have the convenience of being able to leave the book I was reading in the stands or in the read table because the staff will take care of by proper shelf. Perhaps the only setback is the lack of more recent works, but it won't ruin your experience. Next to the Anhangabaú Metro, is a place that deserves your attention on a possible visit to the punished Center of SP.

  • With a large and Rico collection is a place of research and is also worth a visit for the ride. Beautiful architecture and building in the garden what caught my attention was a sculpture of Camões.
