Latin America Memorial, Sao Paulo

4.2
#15 of 107 in Museums in Sao Paulo
Designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the prolific Brazilian architect, Latin America Memorial is a monument to the sociocultural and political unity of Latin America. Upon arrival, you will see a vast field of concrete, in which perfectly geometrical concrete pavilions stand alongside Niemeyer’s large, bleeding hand statue. As you explore inside, you will find galleries, an auditorium, and a library reflecting the ideas of Darcy Ribeiro, an influential cultural anthropologist, and creator of the Latin America Memorial concept. The permanent exhibition of paintings, sculpture, and folk art you will see on display represents the archetypes of Latin American cultures, not only strengthening the identity of its people, but also encouraging its creative development. The Latin America Memorial has a rotating schedule of performances and events, which enables you to join in with the celebrations of the past, present, and future of these people. The Memorial of Latin America is a nice place, but could be better. How is a big place, could be better signposted. There is the Museum of the Castle ra tim bum, that's an attraction. Very nice, nostalgic. The value is actual 20 piece. In addition, the memorial of inclusion, we discovered by accident. A place that shows the importance of valuing people with special needs. It's free, and worth the visit.

I was impressed with the Organization of the exhibition on the program of the Castelo RA Tim Bum. Starting with the purchase of the ticket, that even having a lot of looking, was divided into days and timetables that facilitated your choice. There, as expected, had the option to watch a little play with the new actors. The staff helped us with photographs, organizing the queues. The site is also easily accessible for anyone who wants to take the subway and train. The exhibition is wonderful for those who lived the moments to watch the program on TV Cultura.

The exhibition was very well organized and divided into classes with 30 minute intervals to avoid stocking. There was a whole watch details and with the story about the peodução of the program at the time, as well as letters from fans of the time submitted to the program. The Museum is located right near the Barra Funda station with ample parking and many options for snacks in the parking lot.

Great place to spend the weekend when there´s a food or beer selection festival. This happens at least once in a month i think.

Awesome multipurpose venue. Monuments, art gallery, the building itself (Niemeyer's design), open air parties, runs... Everything happens in and around here.
