Borboletario Aguias da Serra, Sao Paulo

4.3
#3 of 9 in Wildlife in Sao Paulo
Borboletario Aguias da Serra may very well be Brazil's biggest butterfly zoo, offering a chance to explore and learn with an English-speaking guide/biologist. You'll be able to see all stages of butterfly development, observe their eggs and pupae, admire caterpillars, and even have an opportunity to hold a butterfly in your hand. Remember, butterflies like vivid colors, so dress up for this occasion. If you're visiting with kids, you can embellish your butterfly adventure with a walk through the woods, a kayaking excursion on the park's lake, or maybe a few rounds of mini golf. • The location is beautiful, very green!! My niece loved the place, I didn't want to get out more, and it was hard to convince her to leave. Food good, simple, homemade, and priced fair. I paid only the entrance and the buffet. I saw other people who said they were charged by caique, fishing, etc., but I didn't pay for anything else. Worth knowing this "treasure". Another thing: do not open during the week and on rainy days or cloudy sky!! So, before you go to the site, start to see if the butterfly garden will open.

  • The butterfly garden Eagles da Serra is a very interesting attraction to know the species of butterflies and their cycles. And the cool thing is that you stay here in the city of São Paulo. :)

  • Wonderful place for visiting. Relatively close to sp. The biologist knows a lot about butterflies and give a great explanation.
  • Show!
  • Hard-to-reach location. Only by road, recommended appropriate vehicle, but it is not impossible to reach common vehicle carefully. Good place to visit with the family. Butterfly Garden well mounted, with at least 8 species and with a little class on the topic. Restaurant with home-made food of good quality, accessible. Own parking paid.

  • A good place to visit and take the kids. With activities such as NASA and ship playground and trails clear entering the nursery of butterflies. Downside is the distance and the roads are not very good. Recommend calling before the visit because weather sealed wouldn't be ideal for visit. Great on-site restaurant with good price for food and dessert will

  • The place is pretty remote, it takes too long to arrive. Is great, but very different than you think and read about it. They charge 10.00 parking lot as a way to get + money, why is completely unnecessary with the space and location where they are. Charge 40.00 above 2 years old to enter. Restaurant they charge lunch and dessert, high price for buffet options (very few options) but the food is good. But what made me surprise was the butterfly garden, a super small space with only 3 species of butterflies!! And very few butterflies at the site. That's right, only 3 species of butterflies. You hardly can they come in your hand even putting the sweet liquid. A tour that takes about 2 hours from the center of SP to be less than 15 minutes in the butterfly garden. The farm has only one horse, two ducks, a cow and a calf, 3 hens and 2 cockerels under arrest, without any employees on site. You spend less than 5 minutes and ready, the ride is over!
