  • This is an excellent place, but a dangerous one as well. This place take part of the history of the city, but is located in a dangerous neighborhood. I mean, there is a lot of thieves and robberies, u...  more »
  • Beautiful architectural ensemble, underutilized and underappreciated by the public mateense. The location is quiet, with a breeze that you won't find in any other point of the city. Spend an afternoon in the stools along the River, under the shade of the trees, can be a charming program. Eventually happen parties and local shows, mainly related to black culture. The rest of the time, is calm.

  • Simple site, with 18th-century buildings toppled as Cultural heritage of the State. Due to meet in the area considered "poor", there are no attractions to enjoy plus a beautiful view of the Harbour and the river and the old buildings (some restored and painted facades). In the middle of the square you will find the monument to Prostitutes, and in the afternoon you can see a beautiful sky and take pictures very beautiful. Have some crafts available for sale, and features a bar in the square. Local security can worry a bit, because of the social question, many people still have prejudice in visiting the harbour due to be near the area considered lacking in the city and the existence of some events of thefts and robberies. However, the performance of the UFES with cultural events on site, valuing the local population, have contributed a lot to draw attention and change the distorted view of some people. For the more insecure I don't advice visit the night. More Government zeal in preserving the site and debunking that the area is dangerous.
