  • It was a quick tour of some minutes and upon arriving at the entrance they ask to sign a book and give us a protection for the fabric to avoid dirt during during the visit on the footwear scene. Have a guide that will telling the story of each environment that we pass, very interesting. Visit well organized and well maintained. Worth a quick on-site. And can enjoy and use the toilets which are clean in view of the central region.

The Palace has a fantastic architecture, sea views and a garden in the background we can summon up a joy from the satisfaction of being in a beautiful place. The Palace is also where the Governor of the State works, so visitation is made only in a part of the Palace. • Seat of Government of the State of Maranhão. Public building daily access of the population and politicians. In its dependencies breakdowns. In your area outside a building very beautiful and preserved. Is situated in an area by the sea, with huge walls because it is an area which at that time was used as a fortress of war. The night the building is closed after business hours, but their external dependencies are very busy because, besides the beauty of the building, there is always a beautiful decorative lighting that usually is modified according to the festivities of the season.

Where to stay in Sao Luis

The more upmarket and characterful accommodations in Sao Luis can be found in the historical center, with atmospheric pousadas (guesthouses) and hotels in well-preserved colonial-era architecture. Head east of the Centro district to find budget hostels suitable for backpackers happy with simple lodgings, but who wish to be close to the main architectural sights. Larger, modern hotels lie along the island's northern coast, where a cluster of luxury and mid-range options offer rooms with sea views.
