  • First of all, download the Google Maps offline map of the region. To get to the farm that gives access to the trail, place on Google Maps: "Fazenda Monte Verde". Access is by a good dirt road (don't need 4x4s). Upon arriving, the left has a free parking for leaving the car. The beginning of the trail starts at the front gate. A track called "Trail of Jorge" (described in the maps) will open the border of the State of SP/MG. This trail is well marked, but the terrain is very uneven, indicated the use of boots and staff. Going up the trail, you will reach a fork in the road, take a left to the rock of the Jaguar, everything is well shown in Google Maps. Good luck and enjoy the ride!

  • I love nature! This trail requires a certain type of effort because it is very steep. I suggest the use of pants! Start the trail early, around the 8:00 morning! Parking is face the Fazenda Monte Verde! This type of landscape is always beautiful and worth the visit! I went up with my 9 year old son!

  • Made up and coming back by St. Francis Xavier (the track can also be made of St. Francis Xavier to Monte Verde, or vice versa). Relatively well flagged, rise of average difficulty (hard enough to be more rewarding, but not impossible), we slept on the Summit and come back the next day early. The Camping area is a ridge lawn clean and fit various tents (beyond the age of 10 and was quiet). From the Summit you can see Monte Verde on one side, and St. Francis Xavier on the other. There are water points along the trail, we use but we put clor-in.
