Pinacotheca Benedicto Calixto, Santos

4.7
Recently restored, Pinacotheca Benedicto Calixto is an impressive waterfront mansion housing a permanent exhibition of about 50 works by one of Brazil’s most respected painters. See Benedicto Calixto’s seascapes, landscapes, portraits, and nudes here, or visit the museum library for a collection of art books. The house was built in the early 1900s, in an eclectic style, and formerly served as a private home to several wealthy families. The indoor garden is a testament to the luxury once enjoyed by coffee barons. Make this a short stop on your tour of the city, or time your visit for one of many cultural events and concerts frequently taking place at the museum. Admission is free. • Beautiful big house, the Pinacoteca. Saints lived like this: evening the sea in front, pianos playing, dances, and the town growing around. There gather beautiful paintings, including those whose names the House. There are annexed to the gardens, a bistro that's very interesting, Good afternoon tea, ladies.

  • Excellent choice for morning and late afternoons. Woody place, full of birds, manicured gardens. Have a show about historical Benedito Calixto and your work, depicting saints of early last century, among others. The Museum is well taken care of. It has interesting material of interest not only artistic, but also historic. On the back, in the gardens, there is a bistro with good options of snacks and dishes.
