  • He had a very important immigration of Italians, Germans and poles and is important for tourism, which is located between Porto Alegre and the coast north of the State. It stands for the production of cane sugar, rice, footwear and bananas. The Municipal party of the Banana takes place in October each year. With respect to the source Imperial, it came to pass that the Emperor don Pedro I, in 1826, stopped to spend the night in the place and took water which is supplied to the town; worried by this, he authorized the construction of the source. The monument was completed in 1847; weapons of the Empire, with the inscription "Neptune, Dios de los Mares" are printed on it. From the mouth of the face sculpted in stone, falls water permanently. This source is recognized as a historical heritage and as a symbol of the city.

  • Part of the story, should receive more attention. When I visited was dirty, with signs of vandalism and some young people smoking in the vicinity.
