  • David Canabarro Museum occupies the top floor of an old building that was headquarters of the first agency of Banco do Brazil in town. Although the name of some of the leaders of the Farroupilha Revolution (1835-45), the museum exposes not only the belongings of illustrious inhabitant, but also of other residents who attended the event in the city. The original painting of David Campbell, for the Patron Saint our Lady of deliverance and also objects that belonged to the Dom Pedro II. Visitors can count on the company of a lady, who works at the Museum, and will inform them details and stories of the residents of the past. Unfortunately, the Museum is in need of reform, and urgent, because of flooding caused by recent storms are damaging the lining and can reach all the fragile collection of the Museum. It is worth visiting and is free.
