  • This church really is fantastic, very pretty, too bad it's all dumped, it seems that the only conservation was made on the occasion of the 500 years. The local people could clean the plates and not only think about selling

  • If you have time it is worth going up and enjoy the view, if you like history, listen to the guides that are always there-for a small contribution-

  • This church stands on a hill I think with some 50 meters in height. To your side, the historic building of a chain, with almost all of its buildings preserved, including with original iron parts, that is, from the 16th century. The old jail has history to bear, notably the doors of their cells of iron originals. The Church of the conception is among the oldest of Brazil, I've said before, with pulpit, altar and even graves of personalities of the time, with your hand a graveyard and ruins unfinished ... All of this information we are passed by tour guides, one of which surprised us with the historical revelation of the true "safe haven" of the descent into the land of C is not in town that bears that name, but rather an end (he pointed out that morro da Igreja da Conceição), exactly in the village of Coroa Vermelha, where there is a river called the End of Cain. Mount Passover to 150 kms of Red Crown was the first land sighted by the Portuguese Admiral, but he came around for a night and a night until your porto seguro, the current tip of Red Crown. Another historical revelation of this guide, the Indians who populated this place were the aimorés and native Indians, and not the pataxó people that have villages in neighbouring locations Of the Hill of this church, we contemplate the breathtaking landscape, the river and your port of embarkation for rides very crowded at that location. Has the appropriate name of ' VÊQUEBONITO ', smj

  • Very well conserved area, worth to see
  • To get an individual (local Guide)-identified with a guide, badge arrived wanting to guide the visitor. To be informed that I was talking about less than 5 minutes, only to take a few pictures, said it was important I "let" some 10 reais, to keep the guides and the parking lot (in public). To leave the same looked menacing-looking and started complaining and threatening in a low voice. Beware that some may even be dangerous. In addition to the individual bug, talking about things you don't want to hear, wants to charge. Until you prove otherwise are unreliable. Just go, because it can be dangerous.

  • Easy access but as soon as we parked we were approached by a citizen charging $10.00. He was of the Association and the value would be to keep the place. The City Hall of the municipality doesn't do that? You don't see policing in place.

  • Beautiful place but don't fall in the coup of the local guides, stay away from them. For the sake of your pocket.

  • Church built in the 17th century, well preserved. Six bodies buried inside the Church, the side has a graveyard in terrible conditions, including suffering soil erosion. And a museum that was jail. The cemetery are buried the natives, we drew attention a grave with a helmet and a motorcycle on the tombstone. The Centre de Cabralia is not pretty, very poor and dirty.

Where to stay in Santa Cruz Cabralia

Most accommodations in Santa Cruz Cabralia lie in the relatively small area within a few blocks of the beach and the coastal highway, south of the mouth of the river. Just about anywhere in town lies within easy walking distance of the ocean and historic sites, though to access the older part of town you'll need to hike up the bluff occupied by the church. While a few larger hotel complexes do exist in the city, the majority of places to stay come in the form of "pousadas," essentially family- or independently run guesthouses, bungalows, and bed and breakfasts that often occupy historical buildings, and generally at budget-friendly rates.
