Shopping da Bahia, Salvador

3.7
#4 of 17 in Shopping in Salvador
Currently the second largest shopping center in the region, Shopping da Bahia is easily accessible by a walkway connecting it to the city's bus station. Once the site of the largest movie theater complex in all of Latin America, the mall helped put Salvador on the national calendar by hosting the Iguatemi Fashion Week. Shop over 500 of the world's best (and most expensive) department stores, stop by the food court for a snack, catch a movie, or browse the newest selection of beach reads at the well-stocked bookstore. Tickets for the Salvador Carnival can also be purchased here. Our Salvador tour itinerary builder makes visiting Shopping da Bahia and other Salvador attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Great, with several options of cafeterias, movies, air conditioning works well, I found it quite crowded the day I went, on the way out of the Mall there are several bus stops, even stop mini bus for executives who want tourists around the city, I think it's pretty safe central full of cops around and on the catwalk that connects the bus station tbm.

It was a very big shopping mall but it is very expensive. It is interesting to do a windows shopping but I would not buy anything here. It's very close to the beaches within a walking distance.

Where to stay in Salvador

The majority of accommodations in Salvador fall into three distinct groupings. If you want to be close to the best historical attractions, stay in or near the old town of Pelourinho, a few minutes from the city's west-facing coastline. This also puts you in the heart of Salvador's tourist-driven nightlife. Your second option is to stay at the southwestern tip of the city, in the neighborhood of Barram, where you'll have instant access to one of Salvador's favorite beaches. Finally, look a bit farther afield to Rio Vermelho, a quieter beachside neighborhood facing south.
