Praca da Se, Salvador

Categories: Historic Walking Areas, Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
3.9/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web
Although the Cathedral was demolished in 1933, Praca da Se still bears the name "Cathedral Square." Plenty of beautiful and historic buildings remain to be admired, but as you walk through the square, your eyes and ears will likely be drawn towards a performance of capoeira--an acrobatic Brazilian martial art which combines elements of dance and combat. The square is the main access route to the historic neighbourhood of Pelourinho, so you can stop for a while to enjoy the spectacle before heading on to explore the city. • Could be an incredible ride, but ... There's a lot of (but many) people using drugs around and that makes the ride a bit nasty because you walk with fear after all all these people you approach asking for money.
