  • Is a means of fast shipping and costs R $0.15 cents used to connect the upper town on Praça da Sé (Pelourinho) in the lower town in the trade. You will have a beautiful view of the Bay of all saints. Uptown location is safe, get off at Praça da Sé, in Pelourinho, with lots of local policing. Worth checking out this attraction.

  • The Plano Inclinado connects the upper and lower city The neighborhoods of Pelorinho and Comercio (Commerce) It costs 15 cents and has great views  more »
  • As an alternative to the Lacerda Elevator for use between the upper city and the lower city, the inclined plane was not working at the time when I went to visit him (January of this year). The path to reach the Slope is also very bad. A lot of desert, insecure. Salvador as tourist town have to watch more of your estate.

  • Place to visit in salvador de Bahia

  • Is a fundamental public transport for residents of Salvador's historical center, but unfortunately is treated as a tourist attraction for the management of ACM Neto. The hours of operation are not respected by the employees who come to terminate the activity 1 hour ahead of schedule and go hiding. Policing only happens in cidade alta, to warn the tourists that the descent is dangerous. In the lower town has no policing. It is unfortunate what has been done to the Old Center of Salvador becomes a place used and lived only for the tourist and not by residents.

Where to stay in Salvador

The majority of accommodations in Salvador fall into three distinct groupings. If you want to be close to the best historical attractions, stay in or near the old town of Pelourinho, a few minutes from the city's west-facing coastline. This also puts you in the heart of Salvador's tourist-driven nightlife. Your second option is to stay at the southwestern tip of the city, in the neighborhood of Barram, where you'll have instant access to one of Salvador's favorite beaches. Finally, look a bit farther afield to Rio Vermelho, a quieter beachside neighborhood facing south.
