  • The former Faculty of Medicine of Bahia is the first school of higher education of Brazil and the first school. Is pointed to with pride by the citizens of the city to the tourists who pass through Largo Terreiro de Jesus. Created with the name of Surgery School of Bahia in 1808, soon after the stay of Don João VI in Bahia. Reportedly the "Salvador Destination" that provides information on points of interest in Salvador, "on 10 April 1813 the school turned into medical surgical Academy, and only in the year 1982 was renamed Faculty of Medicine". The Memorial of medicine, founded in 1982, was designed to save and preserve the history of brazilian medicine.

  • I went to the museum given that the subject was on the "first Brazilians" (indigenous inhabitants before colonization). Mostly it was just blown up pictures of colonial drawings on this subject matter...  more »
