  • Mercado Modelo is a public market mixed with street vendor, but is nice, if you can find a lot of things, ideal p who wants to take a souvenir. Or knowing that it was wrong for high-valued, the souvenir kkkkk Has a very good restaurant in the top Android is worth knowing.

  • If you entered on these sites of tourist recommendations, surely saw the Model Market there in the middle. Well, apparently he has nothing "Wow! That different! That architecture! How much art and culture ". No! It's like a normal market, but meant for tourists. Souvenirs and more souvenirs of Salvador. And all the tents give you the same thing (t-shirt, decorations, shoes and leather hats, trinkets!), if you are looking for is a piece of $60 for $30 elsewhere. (And some things are expensive!) However, there is a basement, where is preserved a bit of your story! There's an energy thought in this space. Second count, was in the area, which were placed the newly arrived slaves. A dark place and that for being below sea level, usually ends up in the soup. Super important Tip: be careful with the stalls of the square that is the front of the market! Don't fall into the "I'm going to ' give ' a little tape as a souvenir" they want to make a "souvenir" $ $ $ too. Or so the "baianas" offered to take pictures, they also want a "little something" $ $ $ later ... Or the Gypsy, which asks for a cigarette, and you extend to deliver her already "read" your hand and tell you that you need to give some money for her to "get rid of bad things".

  • Very nice market mostly for tourists. Products are special and not expensive. Outside the building beatifull sites of the city.
  • Touristic touristic touristic. Too touristic.
  • Unfair prices! Go to the Pelorinhos central square- everything is cheaper there.
  • It's an unique place, for me it was anyway, since I had never been to a market like this prior to my first trip to Salvador. You can find a lot of different products for sale from inside the market as well as from sellers outside in the open part. You can likely barter with them to get a lower price on your items as I did that before. So it's something to keep in mind. If you're looking to go to Morro de São Paulo you can get your boat ticket from an office nearby here as well. I think it's just on the outside of the mercado.
