  • We did a quick went by the market and it was very quiet, several options to buy souvenirs of the trip. I don't recommend the restaurants at the market for meal (there are better ones), but go up and have a beer with a snack to enjoy the view.

  • When one goes to Salvador, this is the best place where to buy all the souvenirs you want; But eye care with the Gypsy girls from outside, looking for any way to deceive you if possible ignoralas. The best prices far that anywhere else.

  • Very nice market mostly for tourists. Products are special and not expensive. Outside the building beatifull sites of the city.
  • Touristic touristic touristic. Too touristic.
  • Unfair prices! Go to the Pelorinhos central square- everything is cheaper there.
  • It's an unique place, for me it was anyway, since I had never been to a market like this prior to my first trip to Salvador. You can find a lot of different products for sale from inside the market as well as from sellers outside in the open part. You can likely barter with them to get a lower price on your items as I did that before. So it's something to keep in mind. If you're looking to go to Morro de São Paulo you can get your boat ticket from an office nearby here as well. I think it's just on the outside of the mercado.
