Itapoan, Salvador

(2.8/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Itapoan, a pleasant beach dotted with rocks, tide pools, and towering coconut palms, was immortalized in verse by Brazilian poet and composer, Vinicius de Moraes. A charming red and white lighthouse presides over the beach, providing a photogenic backdrop as you swim or sunbathe. Many beach shacks offer snacks and the best in Bahian cuisine. • When visiting the Itapuã Beach it is impossible not to remember the song he bowto the Itapuã beach. The sea is bluey and you can see your feet in the water. There are many tents near the beach where you can drink a delicious coconut water or eat a typical Bahia, acarajé.

  • We enjoyed the Beach the famous Itapuã Beach sung in verse and prose. We went in one afternoon for a walk and admire the view. In certain parts, we can observe a certain structure to bathers and tourists and in others not. Some advice: do not frequent on the weekends, it's packed.
