  • The "Fondacao Pierre Verger" is a first-class source for several afro Brazilian themes and the B & W photography. Pierre Fatumbi Verger (+ 1996) is in many countries (since the photo exhibitions in Germany) famous for his black and white photography through 50 years. Also very well known for his many books on afro Brazilian issues such as transfer of religion, cultural differences, slave trade, orixás, candomblé, Capoeira, simple normal life in West Africa and Brazil (and other countries), and much much more. The Foundation continues its LebensWerk in direction the joint mission and works with the people in the district. ALL MOST INTERESTING; go, best in the afternoon; previously, call is recommended to meet the right interlocutor.

  • Very good for those who are interested in photography and African culture and Bahia, in spite of the small photos by space limit, the Foundation has easy location and offers a large amount of books of the photographer to be clad. The service leaves something to be desired in terms of sympathy, but it's going to luck of each visitor.
